Q: What do you recommend LCD or Plasma?
A: With all flat panel myths out there the two are really equal in quality and resolution. It becomes a matter of cost. For now at the larger sizes the plasmas are a better buy. But LCD's are going to continue to drop in price and plasmas have reached the lowest they can reach in price. The one factor that will change a price between the two dramatically is resolution. 1080p or 1080i.
Q: What is the difference between 1080p and 1080i?
A: On paper 1080p is twice as good as 1080i. 1080p can utilize every pixel of HD if given full HD signal.
Q: Can I tell a difference between the 1080p and 1080i?
A: Basically there is no discernable difference to 1080p and 1080i right now! Until service providers (Satellite and Cable) begin broadcasting in 1080p, which will never happen, there is no content available to see at the full resolution. HD, DVD and Blu-ray players are really the only two items that would utilize the 1080p format. And even on those players the difference b/w the formats will not be discernable.
Q: So why buy 1080p?
A: There really is not a perfect answer for this. The way we often put it is that 1080i is the present tense for top resolution and 1080p is the future. The one exception that has just arrived is the 1080p sets with 120Hz scanning rather than 60Hz. The newest 1080p sets will scan at 120Hz, basically processing the image twice as fast and giving a clearer image with fewer defects. Only 1080p sets will have 120Hz if at all.
So if you want the best of the best get a 1080p 120Hz Set! You will most likely spend $500 to $1,000 more for that feature.
Q: If I wanted a Home Theater Room how much would I spend?
A: Four years ago to get your foot in the door it would have been $15,000 and that was not even an HD projector! Now that same room with 92" screen, HD projector, Speakers, AV receiver, DVD, Remote and install will start around $6,000. Obviously depending on the level of quality you may want we have theaters that can go way beyond that.
Q: If I wanted surround sound from Home Theater how much would I spend?
A: For a turnkey solution, meaning from prewire to install, our packages start at $1,600 for prewire, 5.1 speaker package, surround receiver, and DVD player. We also can just a prewire for your new home and do a turnkey system in the future.
Q: Can I buy a TV from another company and have you install it?
